Shots fired at home in east Centennial area

Sheriff’s office seeking info on van from which gun may have fired

Authorities are searching for information after gunshots were fired at a home in the east Centennial area, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The shots struck the outside of the house, and nobody was injured, said Deputy John Bartmann, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. Jan. 27 within a few blocks of Himalaya Street and Chenango Avenue, according to Bartmann.

The sheriff’s office identified a “vehicle of interest” in the case: It appears to be an early 2000s model Chevrolet Express conversion van, the sheriff’s office said in a tweet.

“This van has unique offset center and rear windows as well as a decal or (stripe) running the length of the van,” the tweet said.

There isn’t a known reason why someone in the van would fire shots at the home, Bartmann said.

Images of the van were picked up by a doorbell camera or security camera, Bartmann said.

Anyone who can identify the vehicle or recognizes the vehicle is asked to contact Investigator Bojczuk at Those who wish to remain anonymous may do so by contacting the sheriff’s office tip line at 720-874-8477.
