New manager named for ice arena

Bill Dobbs has been named manager of South Suburban Ice Arena, according to JoAnn Gould, manager of recreation services and facilities with South Suburban Parks and Recreation.

Dobbs was selected from a pool of candidates throughout the country. He has extensive experience in the ice arena industry, having served as vice president of Polar Ice Entertainment, a premier developer and operator of ice skating and entertainment facilities nationwide. He was also general manager of Iceoplex in North Hills and Freemont, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz.

Dobbs has a wealth of management experience in the areas of operations, maintenance, profitability and safety. He has developed both youth and adult hockey and figure skating programs. He is eager to collaborate with the many community groups who utilize South Suburban Ice Arena, located in Centennial.
