About me

I'm the founder and CEO of LeafTech Consulting - a Colorado-based IT managed services firm. I'm a longtime Parker resident in the Idyllwilde neighborhoood. I am originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I've had the privilege of living in four countries on three continents and traveling the world while in grade and high school.

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit, even as a youngster. In 2020, my company, LeafTech Consulting (in Centennial), was named one of Inc. Magazine's 5000 America's Fastest Growing Companies. We ranked in at No. 3155 making us the fastest growing IT Management Firm in the state of Colorado! I'm also receiving a Titan 100 CEO award on Sept. 10 - a humbling award which recognizes Colorado's Top 100 CEO's & C-level executives.

My passion…

Although I never made it to the NHL or took the ice with the Edmonton Oilers, that didn't stop me from naming my dog Edmonton “Eddie” McAree or to have a house that is accented in Oilers' and Broncos Blue and Orange.

My passion is ice hockey. I love hockey! I love watching my son, Henry, play hockey. I love coaching Henry on the ice. And much to my wife's chagrin, I play it too. It's like therapy, only with bruising!

Although I don't play for the Oilers, I do play for the Monkey Wrenches and love the feeling of skating on fresh Zamboni-d ice and the sheer joy of a good collision.

My journey…

I have to say I lived a fairly charmed life. My parents moved us to Saudi Arabia from Canada when I was seven. Moving to the Middle East greatly impacted who I've become. I learned to accept people for who they are and to respect other creeds, cultures, religions and most importantly, foods!

We moved back to Canada when I was 10, but moved again, this time to London, England, when I was 14 and in the middle of my freshman year. My father worked for Bell Canada (sort of like AT&T) and had an amazing opportunity to advance his career - but moving was the last thing I wanted to hear. Turns out London is my favorite city in the world and the educational and travel experiences that move afforded my family then and now plenty of international couches to crash on!

I love the things I've seen, the places I've been and the cultures I've been exposed to. My wife, Rachel, and I are bringing up Henry to be a citizen of the world with lots of international travel, and to know that people might look different, act different and seem different, but as they say, underneath we are all the same.

Every day is another chance to add to the adventurous journey that I'm proud to call my life. LeafTech is built on a culture of inclusion, acceptance and fun! We are all in this together, and I'm nothing without my family and friends, my employees, and yeah, hockey.
