The Regional Transportation District wants to hear from riders
about the proposed changes that, if passed by the board of
directors, will become effective in May.
Three times a year, RTD proposes changes as a way to improve the
efficiency and quality of the district’s public transportation
services.
The most recent proposals involve changes in service on some
routes and elimination of others.
For example, the proposal would eliminate Route 55 while
revising the weekday service schedules on Routes 67 and 77 that
serve areas from the Key Caryl park-n-Ride to Mineral Light Rail
Station. There also is a proposal to eliminate Route 465 due to low
ridership.
Another proposal would eliminate call-n-Ride service in
Highlands Ranch and eliminate call-n-Ride service on Saturdays in
Lone Tree.
RTD plans a series of public hearings in January and February.
Staff members will be at the meetings to explain the proposed
chances and answer questions. RTD also wants to hear from the
public about the proposed service changes. Information gathered at
the hearing will be summarized and provided to RTD Board of
Directors at the regularly scheduled monthly February Board
meeting, when final approval will be requested.
