Mayor to give his last ‘State of Our City’ address

Posted

Economic development likely will be a central topic of the fifth State of Our City address by founding Centennial Mayor Randy Pye.

The annual luncheon is set for April 22 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 10250 E. Costilla Ave. and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Centennial.

Tickets are $30. Sponsor tables also are available. In past years, the event has sold out.

The speech will be the final State of Our City address for the term-limited Pye, who leaves office at the end of the year.

In his address, Pye is expected to report on the milestones the city has reached during the past year, in addition to his vision for the city’s future.

“This is a great service provided by the Centennial Rotary Club, and I appreciate the civic forum it affords,” Pye said. “In the past year, Centennial has completed many very important projects and has made some great strides in economic development. I look forward to presenting the city’s 2008 accomplishments and offering my thoughts on the work ahead.”

Pye will be introduced by Hank Henschen, president of the Rotary Club of Centennial, a chapter of Rotary International.

“We are pleased to sponsor this annual event as it brings together businesses, organizations, and citizens interested in the progress of our community,” Henschen said. “Each year, attendance at the event has exceeded our expectations. We expect a full house again this year.”

Seating is limited and reservations are strongly encouraged. Tickets are available through Black Tie of Colorado, a ticketing service for nonprofit organizations, at blacktie-colorado.com. Use event code “CRF/09l.”

Proceeds will benefit the Centennial Rotary Club Foundation, which assists local charities and community service organizations.
