May 1 and 15

Rec & Rock for Youth. In addition to themed activities and contests, swimming is available along with DJ and dancing, basketball and other gym activities plus concessions from 7-11 p.m. May 1 and 15 at Goodson Recreation Center, 6315 S. University Blvd., Centennial. This is a supervised, secure program. Ages 10-14. Call 303-483-7036 for fees.

May 3-14

Art Academy. Children learn about art through a variety of cultures and historic movements using an assortment of materials from 9:30-11 a.m. May 3-24 at Goodson Recreation Center, 6315 S. University Blvd., Centennial. Ages 3-5. Call 303-483-7074 for fees.

May 6-27

Jump and Rope. Kids get their hearts pumping with fun and challenging jump rope skills including double Dutch and Chinese wheel from 4-5 p.m. May 6-27 at Goodson Recreation Center, 6315 S. University Blvd., Centennial. Sneakers and comfortable clothing suggested. Ages 7-16.

May 8

Spring Fling. South Suburban Parks and Recreation is partnering with the City of Centennial to launch the third annual Centennial Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 8 at deKoevend Park, 6301 S. University Blvd. This free family-oriented festival will provide exciting, interactive children’s activities such as Come Out and Play Pavilion, balloon sculptors, face painters and live entertainment. Younger children will enjoy pony rides and Sand Mountain. Children of all ages can become a part of the game in life-size versions of Chess, Checkers, Chutes and Ladders or High-Ho-Cherry-O. Youth Equipment Orientation. Strengthen muscles and improve athletic performance by learning how to stretch and build 8-10 muscle groups from 10:30-11:45 a.m. May 15 27 at Goodson Recreation Center, 6315 S. June 17, Aug. 19, Oct. 21

Legal Lunch Series. South Metro Denver SBDC present the next Legal Lunch Series program from noon to 2 p.m. at the South Metro Denver Chamber Center, 6840 S. University Blvd. The series covers a variety of topics around business law. Upcoming topics and dates are June 17, Contracts, Leases and Legal Documents; Aug. 19, Hiring and Firing; Oct. 21, TBD.
