Council candidate hopefuls invited to meeting

Centennial residents interested in running for city council are invited to an informational meeting July 23. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. in council chambers at the Centennial Civic Center,

The City of Centennial conducts municipal elections every two years in odd numbered years on the first Tuesday in November. The following residents have declared their intention to run for city council in the Nov. 5 election: Ron Phelps and Candace Moon for District 1; Christine Sweetland for District 2; Richard Holt, Melanie Adams and Rhonda Livingston for District 3; and Anna Burr and Don Sheehan for District 4. Petitioning for official placement takes place in August.

The city is divided into four districts, each of which is represented by two city council members who serve four-year staggered terms. The city also has a mayor, who is elected at-large. City elections are nonpartisan, meaning affiliation with a political party is not required or relevant.
