Cherry Creek sends grads 'on their way'

Graduation 2019

Cherry Creek High School's graduating class could have been a small school of its own, with 850 students taking the final step toward their diplomas at the school's May 22 graduation.

Seniors heard their fellow students perform the heartfelt song “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and “Send Me on My Way” by Rusted Root during the ceremony at the school's stadium on campus in Greenwood Village.

Mable Yiling Miao and Emmett Moe Miller received the Danforth Leadership Award. Katherine Elizabeth Collins and Kai Dylan Blake were recognized as outstanding athletes and Gabrielle Ann Varela and Carson Taylor Smail as honor athletes.

The Principal's Top 10 includes seniors who have either a 4.0 unweighted grade-point average or one of the top 10 weighted GPAs.

That list included Grant Paul Amen, Lindsay Rebecca Becerra, Edwin Christopher Bodoni, Allison Marie Cremer, Sydney Ellen Eck, Sarah Jing Gao, Spencer Benjamin Grimm, Lauren Elizabeth Guthrie, Adam Jacob Honig-Frand, Antonia Lam, Seungwon Lee, Sofia Angela Lopresti, Shrushti Manikandan, Miller, Adam Frank Nash, Samantha Rae Padilla, Asha Reddy Patt, Colleen Mae Roark, Matthew Christopher Rusakevich, Sofia Shyu Stafford, Pranav Subramanian and Marissa Zheng.
