Centennial seeks residents interested in their community who can
volunteer time to serve on one of the city’s boards or
commissions.

The deadline for applications varies by board.
The city is recruiting for the board of adjustment, board of
review, planning and zoning commission, election commission, audit
committee, budget committee and the investment committee.
Vacancies on city finance committees
Application deadline: April 24
The City of Centennial is seeking applicants for three finance
committees. Finance committees are advisory committees required by
the Centennial Home Rule Charter.
Audit committee will: periodically review staff recommendations
based on the City’s process for requesting proposals and interview
to select an auditor or auditing firm to perform the annual
audit.
Budget Committee will study all phases of the City budget and
make recommendations and reports to City council in connection with
any phase of the budget that has received the consideration of the
budget committee, and issue a formal report for each budget cycle
to coincide with city council’s schedule for approval of that
budget. Other reports to city council will be made as
requested.
Investment committee will recommend to city council an adoption
of an investment policy to ensure compliance with Colorado Revised
Statutes and to set policy for management of city funds to attain
investment goals.
Board and commission vacancies
Application deadline: April 17
The Board of Review is a board considering appeals to the
Building Code. Meetings are at 4:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of the
month on an as-needed basis.
The Board of Adjustment is a board considering zoning variance
applications and administrative appeals. Meetings are at 1 p.m. the
third Thursday of the month on an as-needed basis.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is a commission considering
land-use applications and other land use matters. Meetings are the
second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m.
All terms are for a period of three years, for which a stipend
of $25 per meeting will be paid to each attending board member.
Election commission vacancies
Application deadline: May 1
The election commission is an advisory commission required by
the Centennial Home Rule Charter.
The election commission will:
Assist the designated election official in the performance of
duties when requested.
Recommend to city council changes to the boundaries of the four
Centennial districts when the federal census indicates that the
districts no longer have the same number of voters.
The election commission meets the fourth Tuesday of the month.
Terms are for a period of three years.
