Another closure planned for Arapahoe Road

Posted

Special to CCN

On March 5, weather permitting, the Colorado Department of Transportation will realign eastbound Arapahoe Road at Parker Road to the north to accommodate the next phase of construction. The realignment will require a full closure of eastbound and westbound Arapahoe Road between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Realigning traffic usually takes about 10 to 12 hours to complete. In addition, the work requires a great deal of striping, which is an operation that must be done in warm, dry weather.

During the closure, the following detour routes will in place. Access to all businesses near the interchange will remain open.

Eastbound Arapahoe Road Detour: Motorists on eastbound Arapahoe Road will take a right onto Chambers Way and drive behind the Cornerstar Mall to Parker Road.

Westbound Arapahoe Road Detour: Motorists on westbound Arapahoe Road will take Lewiston Way north around Arapahoe Crossing mall to the traffic signal at Parker Road.

Delays are expected and alternate routes are strongly advised.
