Health care forum
The League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County and the Arapahoe
Library District will present a health care reform update, Sept. 15
at 6:45 p.m. at Koelbel Public Library, 5955 S. Holly St. in
Centennial
Attendees will learn what is included in the draft bills and
what is not, how the government plans to pay for the reform and
what would happen to health care costs if the efforts succeed or
fail.
A panel of experts from the Colorado Consumer Health Initiative,
the Colorado Center on Law and Policy and representatives from the
health care and business communities is expected to
participate.

Kidney screening
South Suburban Parks and Recreation’s Lone Tree Recreation
Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle, is hosting a free early-evaluation
kidney screening in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation
on Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Those 18 and older may participate if they have risk factors,
such as diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of
diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease.
Anyone who is African American, Hispanic, Native American,
Asian/Pacific Islander or is 60 years or older is also
eligible.

Puppy Paddle
South Suburban Parks and Recreation invites your furriest family
member to frolic and play in the water at South Suburban’s fourth
annual Puppy Paddle at Holly Pool, 6651 S. Krameria Way in
Centennial, on Sept. 12.
Two sessions are offered, 12-1:45 p.m. and 2:15-4 p.m.
Due to health regulations, no people will be allowed in the
water.
