District 1 meeting

District 1 Centennial councilmembers Rick Dindinger and Ron Phelps will host a citizens meeting Feb. 27, from 1-3 p.m., at the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, 6840 S. University Blvd.

Residents are invited to learn more about the proposed Land Development Code and how it will affect District 1 neighborhoods. The city says the proposed code seeks to provide protections to neighborhoods and ensure that all lots conform to zoning regulations.

For more information, contact Dindinger at 303-754-3352 or rdindinger@centennialcolorado.com or Phelps at 303-754-3354 or rphelps@centennialcolorado.com.

Superintendents quorum

State budget cuts for K-12 education will be discussed by the superintendents of three area school districts at a forum March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Koelbel Public Library, 5955 S. Holly St. The forum comes as many districts are considering layoffs and the elimination of special programs.

The forum, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County, will include Tracie Rainey, executive director of the Colorado School Finance Project, Scott Murphy, Littleton School District superintendent, Mary Chesley, Cherry Creek Schools superintendent, and John Berry, Aurora Schools superintendent.

An audience question and answer period will follow the presentation.

The program is free and open to the public, but space is limited. For more information, call 303-730-2356.
