Suspect at large after fatal shooting in Centennial

Authorities looking for suspect seen near border with Littleton

A suspect is at large after a fatal shooting in the 300 block of East Highline Circle in Centennial. The shooting happened at about 5:05 p.m. Oct. 30 in a parking lot, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, Adolph Arellano, 30, was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The female suspect, 34-year-old Jacqueline Yvonne Lucero, is described by authorities as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of the shooting, her hair was died purple, and she was wearing jeans, a black jacket and carrying a red backpack.

She was last seen on foot near the intersection of East Arapahoe Road and South Broadway, the sheriff's office tweeted around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 30. The location of the shooting is within a few blocks of that spot. The call to authorities originally indicated it happened in the 400 block of East Highline Circle, but the sheriff's office clarified.

Lucero and the victim were known to each other, and investigators do not believe it was a random shooting, the sheriff's office said in a news release. Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for Lucero on a charge of first-degree murder.

Anyone with related information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. The sheriff's office urged the public not to approach Lucero because she is believed to be armed and dangerous.
