Tee time: There’s an app for that
South Suburban Park and Recreation District has created a smartphone app that will allow golfers to view and book available tee times at all four district golf courses straight from their phone.
The app is the newest way to book tee times in addition to the District’s website, www.sspr.org, the golf site, GolfNow, or by directly calling any South Suburban golf course.
The app is available free of charge, and according to district spokeswoman Jamie DeBartolomeis, will be available in the online Android app store as well as from the District’s website.
An iPhone version will be available in the near future.
DeBartolomeis said the move is meant to provide patrons with more convenient ways to book their tee times, but admits it will also improve scheduling efficiencies as well.
The application is not meant to replace current the district’s current scheduling system, but rather enhance it.
“Golfers can still reserve tee time online, in person or by calling us directly,” she said.
This marks the district’s first venture into smartphone and tablet-based applications, and DeBartolomeis says more features and functionalities are on the way.
“Eventually, the plan is to add things like class registrations, league schedules, trail maps and more,” she said.
District golf courses include Lone Tree Golf Course, Littleton Golf Course, and South Suburban Golf Course and Family Sports Golf Course in Centennial.
