A boy riding his bicycle was injured in a hit-and-run incident the afternoon of Sept. 11 in the parking lot of the King Soopers located at 5050 E. Arapahoe Road.
According to a police report, the boy was struck by a black 1970s model Chevrolet step-side pickup truck.
After colliding with the cyclist, the driver of the truck drove the injured boy to a nearby Kaiser Permanente office and dropped him off in the lobby before fleeing, reportedly with the boy’s bicycle still in the bed of his truck.
No information has been released regarding the boy’s condition.
The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s with short, dark, spiky hair, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build and wearing brown shorts and a blue jacket.
The sheriff’s department released a photo of the driver as he entered the lobby of the Kaiser facility and police are encouraging anyone with information about the hit-and-run incident to call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
