Get ready to fly with ‘Peter Pan’

Colorado Ballet will take its audiences on a journey to Neverland from Feb. 24 through March 5 in the Denver debut of choreographer Michael Pink’s “Peter Pan.” It had its world premier in 2010 in Milwaukee.

The work features new scenery and costumes and imaginative choreography, including some high flying by Peter Pan and the Darling children.

The original score is by composer Philip Feeney and carries J.M. Barrie’s classic story of Wendy and the lost boys and Peter who never wanted to grow up.

Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs praised Pink’s skill as a choreographer, reminding audiences how popular Pink’s “Dracula” has been in Denver previously.

Eight children from the Colorado Ballet Academy will perform with the company.

Performances total 11:

7:30 p.m. Feb. 24, 25, March 2, 3;

6:30 p.m. Feb. 28, 29, March 4;

2 p.m. Feb. 25, 26, Mach 3, 4.
