The South Metro Denver Small Business Development Center graduated its most recent Colorado Leading Edge: NxLeveLTM for Start-Ups participants Dec. 12.

The graduation ceremony was at the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, where participants have been spending one evening a week for the past 12 weeks gaining instruction on how to write a comprehensive business plan.

In attendance were John Brackney, President/CEO of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, Darrell Schulte, President of the Colorado Business Bank Littleton Branch, and Marcia McGilley, Executive Director of the South Metro Denver SBDC.

Sixteen students completed the course and were awarded with certificates recognizing their accomplishment. At the end of the class, students were invited to submit their business plans into a class competition, and four winners were chosen and announced at the graduation ceremony. Lynnea Louison of Sushimee, a candy sushi company, won first place and was awarded $300; Heather Kreider of AfterLife Celebrations, won second place and was awarded $200; and David Hutton of Anonymous Stickers and Jason McDonald of AJ's Firehouse Restaurant and Brewery tied for third place and were each awarded $100.
